Is Saudi GOOD or BAD for boxing?

They are clearly taking over most sports now, golf, football, boxing. The future of sports is without doubt in Saudi Arabia. But I can’t work out whether this Saudi money is good or bad for boxing.

I feel like fighters are happy to not fight and just wait for the Saudi payday to come along. And I’m yet to see a single mega fight despite them having all this money to burn.

This, but the problem is and always will be with any authoritarian state that you have to go along with whatever whims that the crown prince wants.

Hell, they allegedly even "kidnapped" WWE wrestlers for a few hours and wouldn't let them out of the country because they were mad at Vince McMahon about money.

I think it's bad they're overpaying fighters who want a ridiculous amount of money .

Good : They have $ to make fights .
Bad: The atmosphere (which to me matters) is absolutely horrible .

Good short-term because we may seen the best fight the best soon

Very bad long-term for the reason you mentioned. The best only fighting when the big pay day comes along. Its bad enough when a cashcow enters a weightclass.

Fights taking please overseas in places that dont have a huge boxing/combat sports culture (like USA, UK, Japan, Mexico) always have zero buzz. The magic isn't there.

During the Klitschko reign, as much as I loved them, fighting over in Germany really contributed to boxing falling off in America.

Remember when Pacquiao was fighting in China for a while? **** was depressing.
