Tank Davis biggest win was against an influencer who had never even been a world champion Ryan Garcia. And Rolly Romero lol He moved to 140 but ducked Josh Taylor the real champion, he instead chose to fight the fake “regular” champion Mario Barrios. His biggest ko win was against a 118 pounder Leo Santa Cruz. Tank ain’t no face in no boxing lmao cmon Mell

The fighter with the most fans is probably Zhang if you think about it.

Wtf is this title, "the face of boxing"? I never heard of this bs in all my life. All this mythical imaginary bs. There is no face of boxing, it's whoever u like. There is no one person out there, there are many great fighters. Some would say Canelo was the face of boxing, but what does that even mean? Does it ignore that he was busted for Clenbuterol in his system, that he weight drained guys and fought old faded guys with a name, smaller guys moving up, or a bunch of British punching bags, while ducking hungry available American challengers who called him out for years and years? Or does all that not factor in to this mythical title? So it's all subjective bs really with made up criteria. Ppl always making up some dumb sh.t juat to have something to talk about. It's just boxing mofos, that's it.

I like Tank a lot, big fan. But he didn’t really have a long list of fighters he NEEDED to fight. But he only fought one, at a catchweight, with weight stipulations.

Lomachenko, Haney, Stevenson, Teofimo. That’s not a long list of guys he HAD to fight. And tbh, fighting even two of those, and Ryan Garcia, would have been great.

And I get it, Loma, Stevenson and Teo are in Top Rank, Haney was in DAZN, Tank fights in Showtime. These fights can only be made if these fighters are either free agents, or join a promotional company for a multi fight deal, or be part of a rival promoter that has a working relationship with your promoter.

That’s just how fights are made now, and have been for a while. I’m not necessarily blaming Tank, i’m blaming the business model of boxing. Then again, you have a guy like Canelo Alvarez, who somehow managed to fight all the top names from all sorts of promoters since he was in early 20s. From Mayweather to Lara to GGG, to Bivol, Kovalev, Saunders, Jacobs, Cotto.

There is a way to do it, basically stop being a slave to promoters. Sign 2-3 fight deals.

The face of boxing is the cheap import, the underdog, TBA, the opponent. Stars are temporary, but you need a gate keeper.
