I don't think I ever saw Cotto get hurt in the Cotto bout. He was doing what boxers do--box. Cotto admitted--nothing that Cotto threw whether to the body or head hurt him.

Yah. Saw the interview on ESB. But I did laugh that when asked about why he suddenly stopped pressuring. He said it is fighting intelligently. hehehe. Wonder what he meant by that. But it's great that he is hearing that fans want him to pick up the pace and if the fans want it, he'll try to accommodate. Great outlook regarding the request of his fans.

It means he's no fool but he recognizes most fans are. All he had to do was look good and be competitive, not win, and he'd still get more paydays. He always does stuff like that so I'm not sure why anyone was surprised. He did it against Baldomir, basically stopped throwing against Margarito and then against Cotto (not to mention trying to exit in the middle rounds when he threw himself to the mat).

Which part of that fight did you see Clottey hurt in?

Must have been the part where Cotto had Clottey up on the ropes throwing a ****load of punches and Clottey shook his head as if to say "is that all you got?" then walked forward. Cotto looked totally lost at that point.

he didnt hurt clottey but clottey definitely felt those 2 left hooks cotto landed at the end of the 9th round. thats why clottey then fought intelligently(carefully) so he can avoid getting hit with those strong left hooks.

JC: I think Mayweather looked fantastic. Everybody thought Marquez would do more because of how tough his fights were with Pacquiao, me included. JC: I think that fight will come down to how well Pacquiao can take his power. If it is stopped early, I favor Cotto. If Pacquiao can use his speed effectively, he can win. Pacquiao is a smart fighter, but if you hit him, he will come back at you. I fought Cotto, and I knew if I threw a 3 punch combination, at least 2 landed, so Cotto can be hit, but he will also hit back. It will come down to how Pacquaio fights. If he tries to throw a lot of punches everytime, he could get hurt. If he punches and uses defense and footwork, he can win.
