  • Spadafora Decisions White Over Eight in Pittsburgh

Former champion Paul Spadafora (43-0, 17KOs) returned to the ring at the Heinz Field VIP Tent in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, winning an eight round unanimous decision over Jermaine White (17-4, 9KOs). Spadafore dominated White before a crowd on 1,200 fans. It was Spadafora's second fight of the year. Trainer Pernell Whitaker was impressed with Spadafora's performance. He wants to get him back in the ring as soon as possible. A november/December return is being discussed. [details]

I wonder if he is going to make a run at a big fight down the road? If so, I don't see his 0 surviving... I doubt all of his skills were kept intact while he was in jail.

I've not seen that much of prime Spadafora, but I seem to read about him every other week due to his behaviour outside the ring. Considering his career progression (or lack thereof) I expected him to be used by an upcoming prospect before now.

I wouldn't be that surprised to see him up against Victor Ortiz or someone like that. Apparently this fight was above 140 though, so maybe he can't even make that now?

I'm interested to see how Sweet Pea does as a trainer.

Watching him now, I can clearly see he isn't as good as he was. He looked great against Manfredy but that doesn't mean he ain't more then capable of beating the top dogs at Jr WW. He isn't talented/ athletic either but he is very smart and knows what to do and when to do it.

This guy White wasn't such bad opponent considering everything and it seems Spadafora beat him rather easy.

But I haven't seen the fight.
