Comments Thread For: Hearn Views Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz as Mismatch: It Won't Go Four Rounds

Promoter Eddie Hearn believes the upcoming clash between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz will be a complete mismatch. Diaz, an MMA veteran, finished his long stint with the UFC last September after beating Tony Ferguson.

This clown came to this conclusion after watching a few mins of pad work. You’d think this dude is a casual fan instead of head promoter for one of the biggest company in boxing.

What does Nate Diaz know about boxing??? Jake Paul - always picks smaller guys so his power will KO them. Fury was a small guy too and it wasn't easy for him and he could almost actually box. Jake Paul will eat these MMA guys for breakfast. None of them can box. Diaz is old and finished even in his own sport

Have to agree with Hearn until proven otherwise. Only advantage I give Nate is switching to angles smoother . I’d say Jake by TKO round 8 and a good chance it’s a cut .

Nate best attribute is his boxing. He’s spar numerous boxers throughout his career. Even if Paul does win (which he should) point I was making was Hearn thinking Diaz can’t fight based solely on watching pad work for a few mins and ignoring Diaz boxing background.

Once Jake Paul gets the win here he has well and truly completed UFC and goes down as the best UFC fighter ever. He couldn't even get past level 1 (Tommy Fury) against a boxer, but we all know these UFC guys are totally overrated.

A few more years of beating up UFC, followed by a journeyman streak in WWE, Jake "the great" Paul will then see out the rest of his life doing side-quests, before passing away after being hit by a tennis ball in the throat in a PPV exhibition match vs Martina Hingis. Nash out

Both diaz brothers have always had legit boxing trainers in their corner and that has always been a huge part of their game. One thing I have always found they do very well is mix up speed on their punches. Diaz is better at boxing than tommy lmao No question about that. Will size be a thing? Maybe, but I'm going with special Edward on this one

I remember when people used to say the Diaz brothers would be the best candidates to cross over from MMA to boxing and I used to scratch my head because I've always thought their boxing was pretty damn bad. Sloppy technique, arm-punches, no leverage, certainly no speed or explosiveness. They do have (or had, at least) good cardio and a high work-rate but that's about it.

Nate's as tough as old boots though and if it somehow comes down to a war of wills he'll drown Jake, but I have a feeling he's either gonna get starched like Askren or stopped on cuts once all that scar tissue inevitably opens up (a stiff breeze will do it these days).

You may be right sir! But damn if those arm punches didnt connect and then it seems they mix up the speed and fire a hard one in there somewhere. Hell with those tiny gloves that seems like a good idea to me. I personally don't think he does that with the big gloves. Imo he will surprise some folks
