In this scenario, I'd only expect Munguia to jump up if he called out Benavidez, cleared out 160, or was considered a top pound for pound talent.

I really want see either Morrell, Andrade or Alvarez take on Benavidez; those fights all make sense in my opinion.

Two of Munguia's last 3 fights were at 168...

Of all the guys at 168 I think Morrell is the only one that shows promise. The division is fvkcing trash so he should have no problem being the #1 guy

He also has a physical advantage over Plant: Plant has little punching power.

What? I’ve been begging for Canelo to fight Benavidez.

I’m saying what you read. Exactly what you read word for word. That Benavidez only calls out fighters he has physical advantages over. Mainly 154-160 fighters coming up.

I pray to god Canelo fights this clown next.

There are other contenders at 168 that both he and Morrell could fight before eventually facing each other.
So then u must not mind canelo fighting others instead of bumavidez there’s other contenders they beat before facing off at the top right?

Yes, against Middleweights. However, I was fault Munguia's team called Benavidez out. Furthermore, it seems Munguia will campaign at 168. All around I was wrong.

Different situations. Canelo-Benavidez is already a huge fight that everyone want to see and Benavidez is Canelo's mandatory.

What's Canelo's excuse not to fight him exactly?

because if he moves up he'll have trouble getting back down to 168 and then he'll never get the Canelo fight.

i just figured he was at 168 now because he’s trying to get a Canelo fight. Nobody wants to fight at 160

He has been fighting others. Pulled 40 year old Golovkin up to 168, fought John Ryder…all fights nobody GAF about

168 has got some movement. its a smorgasbord of entertainment compared to 160 which is totally dead.

I'd like to see Benavidez vs Mbilli in a competitive stay-busy fight - a further step up for Mbilli and no easy outing for David.

Morrell is just going to be avoided at 168 - just like Ennis is at 147 and Golovkin was 10 years ago at 160 and Hgrovic is at HW
