Comments Thread For: Quigley Vows To Bump Off 'Flashy' Berlanga: I'm Ready To Rock and Roll

By Jake Donovan - Jason Quigley believes there are parallels between his next fight and the one that first left him hooked on the sport. The current fringe middleweight contender was just shy of ten years of age when Marco Antonio Barrera upset then-unbeaten featherweight king Naseem Hamed in April 2001. The twelve-round win helped not only Barrera return to past glory but served as a springboard for what would become a Hall of Fame career.

How many rounds does this cat last? I expect he wont take a prolonged beating...but rather he'll go down and out hard.

Berlanga gives it his all, respect. But I think even Munguia is better than him.

Hope he and Munguia make good money though, 'cos the way they fight is not conducive to long careers in this sport. Yes, Munguia had over over forty fights, but mostly tomato cans.

Quigley got the nice sleek looking face, just there for the breaking. And Berlanga looks like he can box, but those that have seen him before know better. Hey its better than a female boxing match, not much though lol

Quigley, at one point on his way up, was getting hype. They matched him against an extremely shot Glenn Tapia and he managed a decision. They matched him with a shopworn Taureano Johnson but Reno still had enough in the tank to expose the Irishman's limitations.

I thought "El Animal" was very lucky to escape with a win against Mosley, Jr but he again showed him limitations getting smoked by Andrade.

Quigley is tough and he will try. I doubt he can pull the upset even if Berlanga comes in unprepared...this is about the respective level where Quigley loses and where Berlanga wins (even if not impressively).

Hey hear what you are saying but ............ i will take Quig to win in the later rounds will not go the distance. Reason well besides having zero respect for the ****er no wait that is it bc of what i think of ****er he can and will loose Quig is not going to stand in front of him and he has some power and takes the game serious. Hell ****er thinks and has been treated like he was something before he even learned how to try. I know you did not ask but it is a fight i will miss anyhow but still Quig in the latter rounds i will see and hear about it on highlights or some casters opinion....... junk fights have been around for a long time but sometimes a cut, a bad call by an official and so forth can make two so - so's so something.

Quigley is a career MW that appears that doesn't have a sturdy chin and is being brought in like a KO victim to prop Berlanga.

I respect your opinion and will see how it turns out. I'm no fan of Berlanga and he has plenty of red flags about him that no fight can be assumed victory for him..let's just hope it's a decent fight regardless.
