Pacquiao does not need to fight mayweather for anyone not for boxing or the fans

After Floyd Mayweather’s expected but less than spectacular win over a blown-out legitimate super featherweight Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand several days ago, people have been salivating at the prospect of seeing Manny Pacquiao go against Mayweather to place an exclamation point on the Filipino idol’s legacy in boxing.

Lol!! Why would Manny not want to fight the P4P #2 in the sport?

I can understand Manny running back down to LW and Floyd calling him back up, but Manny is choosing to stay and prove himself at WW.

And why wouldn't he want the biggest payday of his career against the P4P #2
      even if he loses?

By staying to fight Cotto, Manny wants to let the fans know that he can hang with and beat WW's, albeit at the catch-weight level.

Precisely. A lot of people say Manny's got better skills than Floyd.
Only way to know is if they get in the ring. Right?

I don't get it. Is it they're afraid Manny will lose, and prefer he preserve his superstar status and retire on top?

Or is it they just don't think Floyd deserves a shot at the P4P #1 fighter because "Manny's not really a WW and he's only fighting WW's because he knows he can beat them."?

Pac doesnt need Mayweather, Mayweather doesnt need Pac but they could both use all that can be made from the super fight.

One good power punch might send skills flying to the canvas. If skills meant something for floyd he would prove them with someone from his own division.
