There are two points being framed here and things tend to get murky when parts of a debate gets left out. So let’s fix that.

Porter was certainly coming off a win over Sebastian Formella (I had to google that. That just tells you what kind of a win that was). This was my mistake - I assumed you were talking about this.

As for the Ugas fight, you are right, everyone thought Ugas beat Porter.

The bottom line though is, as good a boxer Crawford is, his resume at 147 is littered with asterisks. There is no way a true boxing fan and purist could ever defend or justify fights with Khan and Brook. I’m not even sure if money was a factor. Those two weren’t PPV stars nor did any of those fights have stellar PPV numbers.

Crawford might end up beating Spence, his resume at 147 will still be shït compared to guys like Cotto and Mosley. And I’m saying this because Crawford has been sitting on the P4P mountain for over 4 years now.
Anytime I argue with people I know and ask them to list the names of guys that Crawford beat, NO ONE can name two. That’s how bad his resume is.

Let me be clear again, Crawford is no bum. He is extremely skilled. It’s his resume and P4P rank that stinks.

Best guys on Bud’s resume are Postol, Gamboa and Porter (off the top of my head. Not on his Boxrec)

Postol and Gamboa were both prime, and I thought Postol beat Ramirez years later

Here is a suggestion: Stop asking random casual fans about boxing. Anyone who has never heard of Julius Indongo, Ricky Burns, Yoriorkis Gamboa or Viktor Postol isn't a boxing fan worth communicating with. Funny thing is Postol had just stopped Matthysse to become Danny's WBC mandatory at 140, chased Danny out of the division and some fans were insisting that Crawford-Postol was a 50/50 fight (I can show screenshots from old threads in my FB boxing group). After Bud waxes Postol, the goalposts were moved and Postol became a "bum".

In any event, will Earl Spence become one of those "nobodies" on Crawford's resume after July 29th? REVISIONIST HISTORY is amazing.

Maybe the casuals will revise history. I will not. If Crawford beats Spence, it catapults him into a whole different territory. I will NOT shït on him.

Postol and Porter were solid wins. Gamboa was just way undersized.

Gamboa was P4P Top 10. I specifically remember a few folks saying "Gambia will beat the breaks off Crawford!" Those exact words.

Here’s a suggestion, stop listening to casuals about boxing … you know I’m just messing with you. But to your point, a few (maybe a lot) boxing fans are casual fans and Gamboa was going up in weight to fight Bud. Gamboa had no shot.
Gamboa could have had a great career at 126/130

That was like Broner going up to 147. He ruined his career.

Gambia was elite at 126, but had a bad habit of getting dropped early in fights. He should have fought Juanma before Salido got to him.
