  • Comments Thread For: Tim Bradley on Lopez Win Over Taylor: It Was a Fantastic Performance; He Was Back To The Old Teo

Timothy Bradley Jr. was more than happy to dole out some praise for Teofimo Lopez Jr. Bradley, a former two-division titlist and current ESPN analyst, couldn't help but be impressed by Lopez's unanimous decision win over Josh Taylor last Saturday night at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. After three subpar fights in a row, Lopez looked sharp and powerful against Taylor, silencing to some extent many of his critics who felt the 25-year-old Brooklyn native was not in shoddy mental shape.

Truth. I didn't know what version we would get, but Teo was back to his best. The speed and accuracy he showed in this fight would trouble anyone and he deserves the plaudits for a great performance.

        Of course, now he retires...

Like I stated before the fight , Taylor was tailor made for Lopez
But all the couch warriors on this site said I was fughin crazy
          Voilą motherfughers
All this just to say that Lopez will be back to his old self once the money runs out and he un retires
He’ll be heavy favourite against who ever his next opponent will be
Easy score for the gambler who will bet against him

Teo has trouble with movers and counter punchers because he prefers to be that guy.

When he is forced to intiate the play, he walks into all sorts of traps and counters.

Josh Taylor made it easy for him by being the aggressor.

But Teo would have trouble with guys like Haney, Shakur, and Tank Davis who will essentially do the same thing he does but better.

Not to say he can't win or grow and work on the offensive side of his game, but it seems unlikely to do it against those guys when he couldn't do it against Kambosis and Sandor Martin.

To give you guys context, look at the Floyd Mayweather vs Zab Judah fight.

Zab Judah essentially was Mayweathering Mayweather but doing it better than him in the early rounds.

This forced Floyd to become the aggressor and be the one to intiate the play and he walked into a bunch of traps and counters from Judah.

Fortunately, Floyd is just too versatile and he is arguably the greatest data collector and adjuster in the sport.

He downloaded Judah and found a way to nullify all of his traps and counters while sill remaining aggressive.

            Watch that fight for reference.

I don't know if it's an innate thing or something you can learn, but Teo needs to figure it out if he is going to fight those guys because right now he doesn't have it.
