    ways to beat floyd

i added some of whats below to another thread, where a gentlemen was asking what was the formula to beat floyd....i am a newbie to this site and wanted either intelligent fans or those that have been in the ring and can visualize what i am descibing to respond...

WAYS TO BE EFFECTIVE AGAINST FLOYD

FOR A TALLER FIGHTER WHO IS A BOXER-
i believe a tall rangey guy, who can control range with a good jab n straight right hand can beat floyd IF they make a boring fight out of it....make floyd lead and dont let the crowd or ur emotions dictate action..draw a line in the sand n meet him with the jab, then step back and make him reset and take the chance of closing down the distance again...a taller rangey guy does not have to press the action against floyd.....this was delahoyas mistake...he was too emotionally involved n got caught up in asserting himself against the smaller fighter....use the height n range n make floyd fight outside his comfort zone..make him take the lead no matter how boring the fight gets

FOR A FIGHTER OF EQUAL HEIGHT(BUT A TRUE WELTERWEIGHT)
if ur physical attributes dont allow u to control range and distance with the jab....BUT u are in good enough shape to go pedal to the metal n fight the physcial bully typE of fight, then there are two things u must do....

one...dont stay on the straight line while ur inside...at times floyd will plant his feet n go into his shell, if u are in front of him..he can see n catch everything, do a quick step over outside of his left foot on the 45 degree angle and throw the left hook(like juan diaz used to step over and do)this way..the hook wont land on the right side of floyds face where his right glove is....it will split the guard!!!(with the shoulder roll defense, due to where the hands are placed, the left hook while also land heavily to ur opponents heart if u get over outside ur opponents left foot on the 45,u could desensitize ur opponent by starting with that shot on occasion before going to the head)...the next effective punch to look for against floyds defense is ...the double right hand....throw the first right hand straight...AFTER THE FIRST RIGHT IS THROWN ,while in the motion of pulling the punch back, step in quickly, almost hop in immediatly...this will put ur body against his where u can pin his own left arm down against his own side....then depending on the angle of his shoulder roll...if he is leaned back, throw another striaght right hand, or if he is bent to the side, throw a chopping right hand(tim witherspoon like).....

floyd will plant his feet at times and let u get off, due to how confident he is in his defense...it is a must not to throw ur shots while directly in front of him..even if u are in the pocket...u must get over on the 45 degree angles outside of his field of vision....i have other ideas too..but these are a means to landing effective shots against floyd.......he is the man..but he is human!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Here's how to beat him

    1. Be at least a middleweight or bigger, preferably super middleweight

    2. Have ridiculously long reach and a good, strong jab

    3. Have an iron chin and no fear of getting hit

    4. Have a great work rate

The only guy that stands a chance below 168 is Paul Williams and even he doesn't have a strong jab

don't give him distance to time your movements; fight him aggressively on the inside; don't throw wide wild punches while on the inside; feint punches to get him to commit his elbow block thing either high or down by the belt line and hit the open spot then tie him up; move in angles side to side whatever but never walk straight to him and try to out box him- rough him up and don't give him time to think.

The bigger you are the better, duck to the left under his left hook and counter with a left of your own or just hit him low and rabbit punch him to piss him off- that will throw him off his game.
