Dang, Canelo tried to get out of the predicament of getting criticism by avoiding Benavidez and getting rejected by Bivol (due to proposing a deal heavily favoring Alvarez despite losing the first match) via fighting a world champ at two divisions above.

But now Badou rejected the deal by pointing out the stipulations (the catchweight) that would force the 40 year old onto fight nearly at light heavyweight despite being the defending champion and the hypocrisy of rejecting his previous deal as David proposed a very profitable deal (50$ million) for a Mega fight.

It seems that Canelo losing leverage as the A side, although now he will fight a 2 year unactive alcoholic who was rocked by Montiel in twelve rounds in his last bout.

Some people don't realize how difficult and debilitating it is to drop 20lbs from one's natural weight & not be able to rehydrate properly. Especially at the age of 39, which is a big disadvantage in itself.
