Comments Thread For: Spence: Everything I Been Through These 2, 3 Years, I Should Be Underdog Against Crawford

Errol Spence Jr. is completely unaccustomed to being a betting underdog entering a professional prize fight. The unbeaten IBF/WBA/WBC welterweight champion isn't offended, though, that Terence Crawford has opened as a slight favorite to beat him in their 12-round, 147-pound title unification fight July 29 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It’s good that the oddsmakers are selling Spence short. So now all the pressure is on Bud Crawford to win.

In addition, I would have to agree with Errol here. His body has been through a whole lot of trauma over these past few years; With two car accidents and a detached retina.

However, he has been medically cleared to resume his boxing career; So that is not an excuse if he was to lose to Terence Crawford.

        I'm not a fan, but I love Bud's confidence.

Everyone knew Benevidez would blast out Plant in 6 rounds because of his 1-punch concussive power. Everyone knew Haney was too big for Lomachenko and that Vasily had no chance. Everyone knew Teo was washed and would lose to Taylor.

Fool me once, but 4 times...?

My heart is pulling for Spence, but my mind believes that Crawford will win. But we finally got our big fight of the year. Both are equally superb and at least their trash talk didn't go overboard.

Even before the physical trauma, Bud was the superior fighter and superior finisher. Nothing has changed.

stop the press, the claim about the first undisputed welter in the 4 belt era is incorrect, teo has achieved that, having never even fought at the weight but hes already vacated so its ok now

I'm from Texas and I like Spence. I just see something in Bud that you rarely see in boxing. Usyk has it, too. There's a dog inside and the more you kick the dog the scarier it gets. It's like a stone-cold killer inside.

?! Unless something has changed in the last few days, Spence is the underdog.. Vegas/bookies have had Crawford as the favorite since this was signed. Spence and his fans see him as a fav or as the A side, not the people controlling the $.
