Neither one of these guys are PPV stars. Let that be known. Crawford is doing 1-200 buys without any traditional PPV option. Gotta have a ******ing device to watch his fights which are still not used in a lot of homes. (ESPN+ app)

Spence is doling probably double those weak ass numbers at best with his fights available on any and every platform. ******ing and traditional cable.

Terrance is the B-Side for sure. But it aint by much. When they come together next month I’m sure it’ll be successful. I hope these boys let them fists fly and give me my 85 dollars worth.

A-side or b-side talk is reserved for fake boxing fans who need excuses why things don’t happen in the sport. Carried over from their previous love of wrestling. No self respecting fan gives a fk about ppv numbers or purses. Plays no part in how legit fans enjoy the sport. Half the dudes on here are part time fans anyway and 3/4 of the remaining ones need drama to enjoy the sport. There isn’t another sport outside of boxing and mma where fans spend this much money counting the athletes money.

Crawford is the B side but Spence the underdog according to the odds.

They can both use what they want to motivate themselves.

Your link didn’t work. But I googled and found that:

In 2020 the number was 45 percent of homes had them.

in 2023 the number is 63 percent percent of homes have them.

Ignoring the fact that Crawford v Porter was 2021, and going off 2023 Smart TV numbers you’re looking at 37% of people who are simply NOT ABLE to order the fight period because they don’t have the equipment.

that’s not accounting for homes who have smart tvs but don’t use the smart features, because at this point every TV you get from Walmart is going to be a smart tv. So when your tv breaks some folks buy a new one and hook their cable box up and completely ignore the smart feature.

taking all this into account, Spence is not putting up huge numbers considering his fights are available in more homes, and he is fighting guys with more name value. Neither guy is a PPV star. Period. They need each other to make a big fight, and I’m glad for it. As non PPV level FIGHTS that get put on PPV anyway keep reducing in success hopefully we no longer have to pay extra for everything.
