I'm pretty sure taxes are collected from the country you compete in. That's why Pacquiao owed the feds so much in the US because he didn't pay his taxes from the purses he got when he fought there.

I didn't take a side in this, or say it was right. I just explained to you how one action in isolation may not create change, but multiple actions do - because you couldn't understand it.

You’re kidding right? Bivol himself has ZERO involvement in Russian policy, why punish him?

Such a weak stance from WBC. Bullshyt. Fighters should not be punished for the wars their governments engage in. Meanwhile, WBC will sanction fights in Saudi and other Middle Eastern nations that have sanctioned terrorism. Will they prevent Chinese fighters from competing for their belt due to human rights violations by China? Or if they invade Taiwan? Stay out of politics WBC!

The WBC belt is officially no longer a world title belt if people from the world's largest country in terms of size, and the 9th highest population are disqualified from fighting for the belt.

Belts have been pimped out to the n'th degree and have been worthless for a long time. Fighters can save a lot of money by no longer paying the sanctioning fees. Ultimately nobody cares what titles are on the line, they just care about seeing the best fight the best.

actually, I understand empty posturing QUITE well. I think YOU are the one confusing this as some sort of admirable principled stance.
