Tune ups might actually be supporting proof that a boxer might be a fan of pay days. Tune ups are a good way to make extra money. A lot of fighters take waste of time tune ups. Spence will actually skip those.

Boxers earmarked for ''greatness'' spend the majority of their start fighting tune ups.
After you reach a certain standard (B+), taking on glorified mismatches can be risky.
A fighter can still get injured while beating up his gimme fight.
Losing out on a possible pay day.

Sometimes less (fights) can = more $$$$ per year.

He’s not lying. The fans aren’t there to help you financially in the end when a pro boxer is physically and mentally not doing well. Very few boxers earn permanent life changing salaries.

You can name 50 boxers that make $100k or more per fight, that’s still a little bit out of all the boxers out there around the world.

Once you start increasing that salary to $250k per fight, $500k, $750k, $1m, the list of who earns that much gets smaller and smaller.

Some fans, when speaking on how much money fighters get, forget that these boxers have people to pay, and family they want to help.

Let’s say you scored an upset win, and then set yourself up for a fight against the best, most popular fighter, for $1m purse. You pay your corner, manager, promoter, taxes, and then your family. How much you think this fighter has left? Oh yeah, then he loses this big fight, and never sees that type of money again.

How do you prevent this from affecting you too much? Simple, you make as much big money fights as possible if you are a good fighter. That’s why you should care about money.

I think you're interpreting what he said wrong. He specifically stated that he's looking for legacy defining fights.

Sounds like what a duck would quack to give reason on why he didnt wanna fight crawfish until now.

And ppl here accepting this ezly is either spence fa6boys or just broke bums who thinks everything revolves around money..

Lack of money is an attribute of poverty, not its cause. It’s caused by a certain mentality. This is why giving money to lottery winners, welfare recipients and most boxers never results in the growth of wealth.
