Listen. We gotta call a spade a spade. Teo shocked at least 75% of the boxing community last night. Including myself. I was so off on my prediction. I’m ok with admitting that. Teo is a good fighter. But he’s not consistent. Ultimately, that’s what’s going to separate him from generational impact versus all time greatness. If he can learn to compartmentalize his life from boxing, he will continue to make his mark on the sport. If not, he won’t. It’s that simple.

All this hall of fame talk is a superficial distraction. A fighter like Teo should be getting paid 5-7mil minimum per fight. That’s what really matters…changing his families life forever. Getting 1mil for this fight is depressing. The two decades of sacrifices. It’s appalling. Part of the reason is Top Rank, the other is his poor choice of words, and his psychotic verbal expression.

Teo, sign with PBC or Matchroom and max out your income. Let them fund Takeover Promotions, and then sit back. You retire now, you’re going to be poor.
