At that time they thought Wilder is the reincarnation of Mike Tyson and that he doesn't need anybody. DAZN was at its peak spending money like drunken sailors. Still excited to see this fight but it would have been so much intriguing if they would have fought when they were both undefeated HW champions. Think about it, one guy from the US one from the UK ,both undefeated, both hold world titles, both at the time with like 95% ko ratio , and we could have had 1 undisputed unified HW champion of the world.

No 2 heavyweight belt holders have reigned for so long without fighting to undespute.

No such thing as low ball offer with Wilder. His highest purse was $2 mil in the Ortiz 2 fight.
He was offered 7x more. And like the other poster said, he thought he's the 2nd coming of Tyson.
And now he's back with his pre Luis Ortiz levels. Most likely less than $1 mil. Only a few buys his PPVs now.
