    Froch/Dirrell - Taylor/Abraham on UK TV

CARL Froch's first Super Six fight against Andre Dirrell at the Trent FM Arena next month will be aired live on BBC Radio 5 Live and the UK's newest pay-per-view channel Primetime, it was announced at a Press conference today.

It will cost £14.95 for almost six hours of boxing. It will be the first live event broadcast by the fledgling channel, which is filing the void left by the demise of Setanta.

Froch will climb into the ring against Dirrell at around 2am on October 18, so that it can be broadcast live on Showtime in America.

They will also screen Arthur Abrahams v Jermaine Taylor and fights from the Froch-Dirrell undercard.

All I can find is that apparently it will go active on Sky TV within a few days showing Showtime build-ups for the fights.

        But yeah it'll be PPV.

Sorry lads, I knew this for some time but Henessy said it might not come trough for the sake of ESPN. But now it's gotta go - the channel (Primetime that is) is owned by ITV...

I'm confused as to what Primetime is and what channel it's on exactly, ain't even having much luck googling that ****.

I'm not paying £15 anyway I'm afraid, sorry.

Setanta showed lots of free boxing as part of paying for them £10 monthly. Pretty much got same deal with ESPN so they can sacrifice some UFC and get some more boxing going on, thanks very much.

No worries, Tom. I'm just glad both fights are being shown in the UK and Ireland.

Apparently over next few days it will appear on SKY TV, when they announce a channel number for it.

Man I gotsa say, thanks for the info and I guess it is good.

But British Boxing broadcasting really has hit a major low when seeing one of our few world champions competing in a high level tournament which is big in boxing, merely being available to the public via PAY TV, is a sorry state of affairs.

Christ I don't like Froch but his title fight with Pascal wasn't broadcasted in the UK live at all was it? And Taylor is still a big name, Abraham relatively. That's the kinda fight that would also be cheaply available on British TV, as big sporting events ordinarily.

You're right, it is a sorry state. His fight with Pascal was shown live on ITV, but yeah the Taylor fight wasn't picked up. It was on that internet stream Hennessy set up.

It should be on free tv, its a damn shame. Hopefully the tournament somehow picks up a lot of exposure after the initial fights...and maybe we'll see Froch Kessler on free TV somehow...

                    Yeah, a fool's hope...
