Comments Thread For: Isaac Cruz-Giovanni Cabrera Set For Spence-Crawford Showtime PPV Telecast

One of the fights on the televised portion of the Errol Spence Jr.-Terence Crawford undercard is set. Lightweight contender Isaac Cruz announced through his Instagram account Thursday that he and Giovanni Cabrera have agreed to square off in a 12-round, 135-pound fight July 29 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Cruz-Cabrera will be the co-feature of Showtime Pay-Per-View's four-fight telecast that night.

Giovanni Cabrera - Boxrec 21- 0 - 7 KO!! ... Not exactly a coincidence. Does Issac Cruz need this level of "protection".

I was going to buy this fight regardless of the undercard. I kind of expected it to be soft anyways. Spence-Bud is probably one of only a few I would be willing to spend cash on with such a soft undercard.

This is not a bad fight at all for Cruz. Cabrera is coming off a good win and is looking to move to the next level. Cruz spent most of 2022 fighting no one and needs to fight another credible Lightweight.

How does any move up in the ranks if you insist they not be allowed to challenge any of the top ten guys?
