  • Comments Thread For: Josh Taylor Gets Balanced Judging Panel For Teofimo Lopez Fight That His Team Requested

Josh Taylor has secured the balanced judging panel for his fight against Teofimo Lopez that his team requested. BoxingScene.com has learned that the New York State Athletic Commission has approved England's Steve Gray, New Jersey's Joe Pasquale and Quebec's Benoit Roussel as the three judges for the 12-round, 140-pound championship bout between Scotland's Taylor and Brooklyn's Lopez on Saturday night in New York. Canada's Michael Griffin has been assigned as the referee for Taylor-Lopez as well.

MSG judges already scored against Lopez in his fight with Kambo which was close with both scoring KDs and against a nobody at that. I think Taylor is ok judges don't do any favors to certain guys Teo is one of them

Remember that was a Matchroom show, which had neither guy although they were working with Kambosos. Then ESPN/Top Rank sold the farm to outbid Matchroom to get Haney-Kambosos for some reason.

Its rich to hear Taylor throw a fuss about judges, after the EGREGIOUS scoring that went his way in the Prograis and Postol fights over the pond. 117-112 against Regis and 117-111 against Postol. Mind baffling stuff. Not to mention he got the nod over here, in a close fight against Ramirez.
That being said Teofimo has received some questionable scorecards against Nakatani and Sandor martin.

as if judges have any loyalty to a particular country? they just love money and getting more money so they do what they have to in order to get more work. when they have shown a track record of "reliability" they get more gigs. why do you think its always the same geezers from 30 years ago? if you effed up at your job over and over you would be canned.

Triller is the one who sold the farm, and then defaulted IIRC.

Why, as Champion, would you agree to fight a Brooklyn kid in NYC, in the 1st place?

I thought it wasn't going to go past 8 anyways? Where's all the bravado about how he's got tons of holes in his game and you're going to knock him out?
