Foot work and stamina. He needs to be quick on his feat, because he has quick enough hands speed. This was shown when he fought Mosley. He must also be alert for th uppercuts and change his stance at times to see them coming. he also has to learn to work on the inside instead of running all the time he has to use his strength the same way Julio Cesar Chavez use to do.

He needs to be matched with guys so fast that he gets used to getting hit, he has to able to take the punches to win.

His footspeed, because that is the key element to not giving Pacquiao the time and space he needs to get his shots off. Cotto closes distance to slowly to pin someone like Pacquiao down, he needs to quicken his feet up and crank the pressure up on Pacquiao, if Pacquiao gets any kind of separation he will take advantage with his speed and of how Cotto puts too much weight on his left leg.

Cotto needs to seek and destroy, problem is he has always been a patient fighter who picks his spots and fights methodically.

Cotto in trouble with this fight unless he improves a **** lot more then his last fight. Clottey moves slow like molasses compared to Pacman and Cotto had problems with Clottey at times, might have been the fact Cotto was cut but who knows. I think the best foot-work fighter Cotto has fought is Mosley and I think Pacquiaos footwork is faster then his too!

Stamina would be the main thing, but if he were to work on some kind of special training I go with working on timing smaller fast left handed fighters.

I read like 5 different posts and stopped reading because all of you talk about Miguel as if he were some sort of David Estrada or Urango or some ****. He's an ELITE fighter guys, he's beaten top welters consistently, he's going to be the bigger man come fight night, and if he just uses his jab, he can beat Manny.

You're underestimating Pacman, I hope Cotto isn't because some of Cottos fans are and I'm a fan of both Cotto and Pacquiaos. Right now size doesn't matter if Cottos Jab hits air because of Mannys footwork speed, Cotto needs to have faster feet then he normally does if he expects to hit Manny.

u need another option: none of the above.

all cotto needs to work on is his stamina / endurance or his pacing.

either he's gotta be able to match pac in stamina/endurance, or he has to be able to make pac fight at a slower pace so he (cotto) doesn't gas so early.

also he needs to work on that spotty defense.

everything else he does just fine.
