Spence has some atrocious footwork and balance issues for a supposed pound for pound fighter. Bud will pick him apart.
Spence is going to stop Crawford

yeah you compare their fights with porter, very different styles, spence stays in close and outworks porter and tries to block as much as he can inside with his guard but bud is using footwork and controlling the distance backing up letting porter come to him and picking him off. i think crawford will catch spence, hes the smarter more skilled fighterComment

Thats no different than anything else. The top guys have a dedicated trainer and more gym time. the poor guys have to share trainers and wait longer to spar. so what. nobody says that isnt fairComment

One thing i’ve seen of Crawford is he definitely gets shook when a fighter takes the fight to him and shows a little pressure. But he fought a bunch of journeymen and gatekeepers his whole time with TR at 140-147, aside from Postol and a Porter with one foot out the door. So he got shook only momentarily before stopping the fighters.
It’s going to be interesting to see how Crawford reacts to Spence’s pressure and output. Even more interesting is going to be that Crawford has been fighting all these bums at 140-147 and KO’ing them. Spence has fought some top welterweights in their prime like Porter, Ugas, Brook, DSG, Algieri. So he’s used to more high level welterweights. Crawford of course, hiding in TR, fought Brook and Porter years after Spence. Just like he fought Khan years after the time Khan was considered “prime” (I think Crawford would have beaten a prime Khan anyway).
One interesting opponent to look at in terms of size and how Crawford handled him is one leg Jose Benavidez. Crawford took quite a while to stop a much lesser fighter and size (weight, to those who confuse size with height) had a lot to do with that. I didn’t see Benavidez use as good as jab as Spence uses, but when he used it, it gave Crawford issues. Benavidez also stalked a whole lot and had Crawford on his bike, but was just not active, the output wasn’t there and the defense was nowhere near as good as Spence. Good fight to watch. Crawford was also very tentative in this fight, way more than he has ever looked at 140-147.
The key for Spence is jab, pressure, body shots and output.Comment
