  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: Right Now Joshua's Plan Remains The Same - August Fight, Wilder in December

Heavyweight contender Anthony Joshua is not exactly sold on WBC champion Tyson Fury's most recent approach to make a September showdown at Wembley Stadium in London. On Friday, Fury took to social media to reveal that 'draft contract' was sent to Joshua for a September fight.

I see this as a strategy by Tyson Fury to disrupt Joshua's schedule and prevent a Wilder-Joshua fight in December. In my opinion Joshua's best interest s to fight Wilder before fighting Fury. Win or lose against Wilder I think he retains his credibility as a worthy opponent for whoever comes next. That would make three money making fights for Joshua, one in August against someone (not Fury), a huge money fight against Wilder in December and a huge money fight against Fury in April 2024, and then retirement. If he fights Fury first, he'll lose badly, and the Wilder fight will never happen.

If Joshua beats Wilder. It alters the fight deal for Joshua vs Fury.

Team Fury are saying? They have sent Team Joshua the same deal as last December.

The fight will not be the same deal if Joshua beats Wilder.

Fury is under pressure to make these fights, because his hardcore fans, boxing fans and general public are not endorsing his normal way of operating as a Champion. Deep down Fury would rather just be fighting at domestic to European level 'Until a big fight is called for by the WBC'.

Fury really should be trying to fight Usyk etc.

If Joshua was fighting man he's got NO opponent for August and would earn the biggest payday of his career he should take the Fury fight. He says he desperate for titles and Wilder doesn't have any but Tyson does! I do see the problem here, by December they'll be nothing left to sell!

****** plan. Go straight to the big fight. Aj isn’t good enough to have a tune up without significant risk of him losing.

Fury should just pull Dubois in for a beating live from the UK..

Then leaves Usyk without an opponent as well.. win/win

Usyk has the most titles. Why is Fury trying to fight AJ who has none? It's all fake. Fury has pulled out of THREE Joshua fights now and claimed after the last time he would never deal with Joshua again. Well here we are a few months later... It's all lies.

Joshua should stick to his plan and fight people who actually want to fight.

This is exactly the case. Hearn isn't even sure he beats washed up Whyte hence trying to down play that .If Joshua wants the payday in December he needs to stay quiet and hope that too many questions won't be asked as to his inactivity again!

Tyson needs to finally stop trying to play the smart arse business man and leave that to the experts. For sure he's the best heavyweight out there but far down the rankings as a businessman.
