More Fighters Should Be like JCC SR

It's pretty lame that the top fighters are fighting 1-2 fights a year, if were lucky we get Pacquiao fighting 3 times last year but that's pretty rare. Look at Chavez and how consistent he fought during his prime, he wasn't just fighting mega fights he fought on Showtime/Mexican network Television/HBO/PPV.

He won his first title in 1984 and his schedule for the next 10 years was this.

    1985

    5 fights

    1986

    5 fights

    1987

    3 fights - Slow year

    1988

    5 fights

    1989

    6 fights

    1990

    5 fights

    1991

    5 fights

1992 - He fought 1 month before fighting Camacho and the next month after beating Camacho.

    6 fights

    1993

    6 fights

    1994

    4 fights

Just imagine if Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao were fighting 5-6 times a year, the Buzz would be year round. Yeah you are going to say He fought a lot of bums well yeah but there are only so many fighters out there, I like seeing fighters keep busy instead of fighting 1-2 a year.

Last fighter who did this was DLH in 1997, he fought 5 times.

    Thoughts?

Completely agree dude. The problem is the economics of the sport are not conducive to it now. These guys make so much on their mega fights and also stand to lose so much financially if they suffer a defeat that it isn't in their best interest to pursue that type of schedule. Still, it is a shame.

It is a damn shame, 1-2 times a year isn't cutting it. We need our top fighters fighting keeping active, sitting on the shelf hurts them and the sport.
