This fight will do good numbers regardless but you have to take into account that they share the same fan base while tank vs garcia where two different fan bases.
I don’t think it does Tank-Ryan numbers or better. The fight has Crawford in it, who can’t sell out a fight if it was in his own literal backyard. Spence is a decent seller.
Tank and Ry are each decent sellers as well, 350k ish each with a decent opponent. Which is why their fight sold so well. They basically augmented their own sales by fighting eachother.
But Crawford? No one can help him. 50k average PPV sales, ouch. This fight probably sells the usual 350k Spence generates, plus maybe about another 200-300k from mainstream fans interested in the “somebodies 0 has got to go” storyline, and highlight reel KO’s they will be promoting. If Crawford had better wins, this fight could have sold a million for sure. But his years of fighting fringe contenders hurt his starpower.

I don’t think Spence and Crawford have the same fans. I know a lot of my friends who don’t care for Crawford and like Spence.
Personally, I am a Spence fan and if Crawford retired right now, I wouldn’t bat an eye.
Might be wrong here but while they are pretty well known in the boxing community for their accolades and capabilities.
They might have difficulty bringing new eyes to the sport due stagnating their momentum and overmarinating the fight, I think it will do solid ppv numbers, akin to Benavidez vs Plant but they could sold out much better if they fought earlier on.
Nonetheless pretty glad such a big fight is now going to happen, this year is really delivering when it comes to fights.
