Ive always said that fighters should negotiate a clause in the contract that they be allowed to make a big fight as long as their own promotion company is compensated. That will solve all this B.S.
No fights are getting made until Haney decides what he's doing next. If he moves up and vacates, here are what the ratings look like
IBF
#1 Gustavo Lemos
#2 Vacant
# Loma
WBC
#1 Loma
#2 Cruz
#3 Stevenson
WBO
#1 Loma
#2 Stevenson
#3Berinchyk
WBA
Davis Reg champ
#1 Zepeda
#2 Martin
#3 Loma
My best guess is The
WBA is Davis vs Martin for the real belt
IBF is Loma vs Lemos
WBO is Shakur vs Berinchyk
WBC is Cruz vs Zepeda as Yoshino is probably gonna drop from #4 after getting knocked out by Shakur and Zepeda is #5.
Then Shakur vs Loma for the IBF and WBO early next year and hopefully Tank vs winner of Cruz -Zepeda for the WBC and WBA then Tank vs Shakur for undisputed late 2024.. Yes, I am a dreamer.
Dont get me wrong, i like this fight, but its pretty funny Ellis saying "you the boss" yet Davis has never been his own boss and fights who hes told. For 9 years he wanted no part of Loma. Instead of fighting the true champs of 135 and 140 he fought the 2ndary guys.
And why not go straighstraightney for undisputed? Make it make sense.
Who told you that Tank have not been fighting fights he preferred to fight or what is wrong listen to wise advices? Tank has a great team around that has built him up gradually into his prime where he is now. Besides, boxing is a business, so all decisions have to make sense business wise. And people have been saying the Shakur is better than Haney and Shakur has been calling him out. So, what is wrong with him calling Shakur's bluff. If Haney is keen to cash in on Tank before moving up then he can call him out and might get the fight before Shakur. All in all, there's no reason to be negative about this development. Among all top guys in boxing today Tank is likely the only fighter who is going to fight 3 times the year. So, let's be appreciative for that.
So? What's wrong with a vacant title? What's wrong with a level playing field? If Shakur can't make weight he can move to 140.
you new boxing fans always find something pointless to b*#ch about, instead of enjoying good match-ups. It's ridiculous. What if the fight for no title and weigh-in on the day of the fight - what does it takeaway from the actual fight?
It's not even going happen any time soon. The rehydration clause are bull, whoever make it.
Shakur is hard for any fighter because of his style & speed. Tank might catch him but if not he might lose decision. Same with Haney but he gets hit more.
