Atlas is correct about having federal investigations on rigged boxing events. ******** establishments are the clear winners with these highly questionable decisions by corrupt judges

Note to Teddy: If you think going federal will make anything better, then you’ve been hit on the head too many times.

The better solution is cheaper, faster, and simpler. Just get all important fights out of Las Vegas and away from the casino mafia. That’ll take care of 98% of your problem.

One of the problems that makes oversight difficult is the fractured nature of boxing. The US major leagues are closed shops, unified franchises. You can play baseball professionally anywhere you want, but unless it's under the (almost entirely American) umbrella of the MLB, then you are not playing major league baseball -- and the players agree to stick with this. Mike Trout only plays in MLB, for example.

But in boxing, even if you created a Federal Boxing Commission, it won't mean anything if Fury fights down under, or if Joshua fights Wilder in Saudi Arabia, or if Beterbiev fights Smith in Quebec, or when Canelo fought Ryder in Mexico. Unless they are talking about boxing creating a single commercial entity in the US and try to tie boxers down to fight exclusively as part of this enterprise -- but that is a whole different story and would completely change the nature of boxing permanenetly, turning it into something more akin to UFC.
You're right - - it would have to be a worldwide sanctioning body and we all know the chances of that. But at least for U.S. sanctioned bouts - - it might cure some of the egregious decisions that take place, fight after fight, year after year on a consistent basis.

Create 3 leagues under the same umbrella.
A beginners league, a minor league and a major league. You need to win your way in the majors. Majors cant fight minors or beginners anymore. No obvious mismatches this way.
Anyone can be in the beginners/minors. A set number of majors per division.
Gain rank lose rank based on win loss, and in the majors the bottom guy gets demoted someone in the minors comes up. Minor league call ups start at the bottom.
And this goes for the refs and the judges who can get sent down for bad performances.
Everyones gotta fight at least every 6 months or lose not one, but several ranks, including the champ.
This is the framework I'd go with.

I totally agree. I'll always have respect for McCain, not only for his service to his country but also for the fact that he maintained his integrity and stood by his convictions even when most of his party were against him. He stuck to his guns even if it meant political assassination. Now all you have is soulless, corporate puppets with no balls and no integrity whatsoever, typically sold to the highest bidder (corporate lobbyists).

You’re 100% factually incorrect and couldn’t be more wrong. You obviously never watched a single Friday Night Fight. As a commentator he continuously blasted corruption LIVE ON AIR for all to hear and didn’t care one iota who the boxer was. He screamed and begged for a federal oversight committee be formed under McCain. He did this almost week in and week out. Your dislike for Atlas clouds your opinions of his partiality. He was, is and ALWAYS has been a champion for fighters getting screwed over. You just aren’t listening or refuse to listen.

He’s always held try to boxers getting screwed over. I know posting anonymously on the internet makes one brave. However, Teddy would still lay you out flat at his age.

Gonna try to bump this on a regular basis, maybe we could pin it for a while. If you haven't already, sign Teddy's petition. It's to establish a federal boxing commission, with the intent to end the blatant corruption and robberies that've plagued our favorite sport for over 100 years.
