Why do Boxer drain themselves to be the tallest in their weight class ?

I noticed boxers that walk around 180 lb would drain themselves to be 160 or boxers would be 20 lb less than they usual weigh for a fight. More than ever it seems like they’re alot of weight bullies in boxing in this new era

Height doesn’t equal weight. Canelo is constantly the shortest guy but also the biggest guy.

one of my all time favourites was Alexis Arguello. He was over six feet and fought at 122 with same day weigh in’s.

Tallest? You got it wrong, it is not unusual for fighters to cut height also
