The right time? It has to happen at 135, 140 or 147. Sounds to me that they will avoid Shakur at all costs.

The Loma fight was a wakeup call. The only fight he'll take at 135 is a Tank fight or a Loma rematch.

I think Loma is moving on to face Tank. Haney's next fight will be at 140. He will make the same $ in 3 fights @140 as for a Tank or Shakur fight. If he survives, Shakur @140 for undisputed. Gives him time to reset, retool etc. Just an opinion so we'll see..

Translation: I’m moving up to 140 so I can get paid to fight Commey and Pedraza and after that fight for a vacant 140lb title against some no hoper all while so and so is ducking me at 140.

another reason why the wrong guy lost Saturday night. Haney ain’t about the smoke

          Why not next?

You're with the same promoter, same division and neither have fights scheduled...

          I can't think of a better time

Devin doesn't have it. He got beat by a smaller older man.

The old saying you're only as good as your last fight rings as true in today's era as it did in era's gone.

I say that because soo many people are counting Haney out against Davis and Stevenson due to his recent performance. However, styles make fights and Haney has a style to cause problems to anyone.

Boxing fans are too reactionary, let's look at with perspective not just who looked good or who we like.

The way Loma was nailing him with straight lefts would suggest he will struggle against Tank. Styles make fights, Haney will have to make it a boring jab-fest to win that one IMO.

Translation: I do not want no part of him right now. But, this will be a great 'cash-out' fight (ala- Canelo and PBC Errol Spence Jr. style), years from now down the line.

It's amazing to me how easily fooled some people are. All this "Haney wants all the smoke" has largely smoke and mirrors the whole time.

"He had to travel to Australia to fight for the belts!" - Yeah, he got two big fights, two massive paydays and all the belts in one go against a very beatable opponent he was favoured to win against. People make it sound like he had to toil away in Siberia for a year to get those belts. The Kambosos fights were a gift in his lap.

Haney didn't want the Lomachenko fight four years ago (and his father damn sure didn't want it), he just wanted to puff his chest out and make it look like he did because he knew Lomachenko was vying to become undisputed. Haney wanted the fight with Lomachenko right now, when it was the "right time", and he still lost. Listen to his father stutter his way through a post-fight interview when asked about a rematch.

Haney says he and Stevenson are on a collision course. No, you've been on a collision course, now it's time to collide. Devin says the fight will happen "at the right time. Could be at 140 or 147." Stevenson says the fight should happen next. Shakur is the one who really wants all the smoke, as does Loma (who always has). I guarantee if Loma had won those two would be fighting next.

Instead, Devin will "test the water" at 140, which means he'll take a nice comfortable payday against a beatable opponent like Commey or Pedraza and stall having to face another top opponent for as long as possible. It's as clear as day, always has been with the Haneys yet a lot of people are only just opening their eyes to it.
