Teo did well keeping Loma at range for large parts of the fight, but he carried a power threat where Loma wasn't too willing to force his way into range. I think Loma will be much more willing to dart into range in this one. So I don't think Haney controlling the distance with just his jab is going to deter Loma as much.

If I see Loma getting past Haney's jab within the first 3 rounds, I think Haney is getting picked apart because he has absolutely no inside game except hugging. The ref will be a factor there though. That's why Haney has been calling Loma a dirty fighter, because he doesn't want Loma near him and wants the ref to jump in when its up close. Haney knows he's got problems unless he keeps the fight at long range.
Loma is going to get past his jab. Guaranteed. Loma is a southpaw, and that changes everything. Shakur's grandfather trained Devin and said he's always struggled against southpaws. We saw that with JoJo Diaz. I thought Devin was going to run through JoJo, but that was a competitive fight. Scorecards are off and don't tell the story. Devin struggles trying to control that lead hand. His jab is great against orthodox fighters but not so good against southpaws.

Dunno if they playing UP the excuse for being small, one thing IS sure, Devin IS playing up the weight bully game settling as the champion a weigh in 36 hours before fighting. Haney publicy said he struggled to make 135, and I believe he can't unless it's 36 hours before the fight. It makes a mockery of boxing just like rehydration clauses. Fighters will sign anyway because they Desperate to win a title or the lottery. Boxing IS not a serious sport anymore.

I admit I'm a Loma fan, I have no problem with Haney winning, Loma is already 2 losses anyway, but I wish there was an even playing field.

Loma vs Rigo was garbage, so might be this fight if Devin comes in at 160.
At least Loma didn't ask 36 hours to weight bully even more Rigo...

        Good Luck to both fighters.

        • Can't we all just get along?! Why didn't Haney give him a friendly hug as a preview of what's to come Saturday night?

He would of gotten much more props if he just gave him a big and long hug
Just like the rest of his fights

No fighter respects this guy. Tank doesn't respect him. Shakur doesn't respect him. No one does because everyone knows what he is inside.

Guy's marketability took another hit. Not only is he boring AF but he's also a coward. That's what a coward does. That's basically a sucker punch.

Hey I get it Loma is everyone’s favourite fighter. The thought of pushing a guy you are about to punch in the face in less than 36 hours is unthinkable to you guys. Sure it was distasteful and unnecessary and I do believe it was his plan to push him before he left his hotel room. It’s the ferocity in which he pushed Loma that has everyone flabbergasted. I do believe if Loma pushed Haney there wouldn’t be so much uproar. I would have loved it personally. That shove has made some fans desperate that Devin Haney gets beat. It’s going to be emotional night whatever happens for both set of fans. I have no dog in this race but I believe Haney will be victorious if his stamina holds up.

His weight cut didn't go perfectly and Loma has been pretty confident, making him look like a dumbass in the face to face interviews. I think that Loma got the better of him in the last face to face ('cause you know Haney was reading social media about it and saw that everyone said Loma son'd him), and Haney knows that Loma can expose him. So all of these things are at play. Pre planned but also out of fear.

I don't know if you can think of any, but are there any guys who rehydrated but rehydrated too much and it came back to bite them in the fight?
How does that work? Wouldn't you simply pee out any excess water you drank?

                • Increasingly this fight resembles "Boy (Haney) vs. Man (Loma)":

Maybe. Devin can't win without a jab, and you know what happens when you fight a southpaw, right? What happens to that jab?

This is going to look a lot different than how people are expecting. I'm putting more money down on Loma today. Easy money. And that's thinking with my head and not my heart.

Too much water intake has the same effect as being dehydrated. The cells swell up too fast with fluid. You feel weak. Kind of sick. Slow. Almost the same effect as being dehydrated. It can be hard on the body to dehydrate and then rehydrate, especially drinking too much or drinking too quickly.

Whether that happens to Haney, I have no idea.
