  • Comments Thread For: Prograis and Barboza Bicker Over Replacement Needed for June 17 Headliner

Regis Prograis can't believe another 140-pound contender appears to be hesitant to fight him for his WBC title. Arnold Barboza Jr., the other 140-pound contender in question, finds it rich that Prograis would call him out after making a decision to sign with a rival promoter.

Rprog or regpro whatever u wanna call him is getting ridiculous. He signed with matchroom taking a smaller offer knowing none of these fights would get made now he’s trying to say everyone is ducking him? What a clown

Kinda hard to side with prograis. Dude took less money for easier opponents. He would look worse if what Barbosa says is true

Prograis may be the biggest clown in Boxeo.. he’s at least top 3..

Prograis definitely with the top bozo promoter, so it’s a perfect match.

Barboza is 100% right on this one. You signed with Hearn and Da-zaster and you immediately start calling out fighters (Barboza, Subriel) from across street. If you wanted to fight those guys then you shouid of signed with TR or PBC. Another classic 3-D (Dazn Disaster Decision). They don't sign fighters to build a roster they sign certain fighters to stop other American fights from happening. They signed Tevin "has anyone seen me" Farmer to stop the Tank fight. They signed Andrade to stop the Jermall fight. They signed 3G to block up the 160 division. They signed Canelo to block his natural American fights with the PBC 168'ers. And so on and so on and so on. If he signed with TR he could've unified the WBO and WBC with a fight with the winner of Josh and Teo. If he signed with PBC he could've had a shot unify the WBC WBA and IBF. Now his first fight with them in June is already in complete shambles. Clown move bro!

Dazn is a joke. I don't know why that rich Russian gave them three more years to succeed but it's just going to be three more years of the same BS. To succeed he needed to not just sign Regis at 140, but he needed to sign Josh, Teo, Barboza, Rolly, Subriel and more. He needs PPV events like Tank vs Ryan, Spence vs Bud and Canelo vs Benevidez. Unfortunately none of those things are possible. So he's going to stick with tactis like signing Andy Cruz and then immediately tell him to start calling the TR and PBC fighters. Andy Cruz should've signed with TR for bigtime fights that would sell: Cruz vs Keyshawn to finally settle the score - Cruz vs Loma for olympian supremacy - Cruz vs Shakur to go skill for skill. But instead you're going to get fed a steady diet of Andy Cruz vs Liam Callum Welsh. And just think you're going all those (not) bigtime fights for $249.99 a year. What a fuqing joke!

Allegedly, Barboza's contract with Top Rank ends in August. If I was TR, I would use this situation to barter with Matchroom. Allow Barboza to face Prograis, and ask for something in return.

This isnt the same as the Ramirez situation. Barboza has a point in this 1.

In this particular instance I can't side with Regis. Barboza has a point here, with such a deep pool of 140lbs over at TR, why would Arnold take a Regis fight over at DAZN on a month notice.
