  • Comments Thread For: Calvin Ford Respects Ryan Garcia, Has No Issue With Helping Him in The Future

In order to take his career to the next level, Ryan Garcia was convinced that he needed a different voice in his ears. Despite praising Joe Goossen for a number of years, following his lopsided knockout defeat against Gervonta Davis, Garcia cleared the deck, canning his now ex-trainer.

Ryan is talented and had a good amateur background...I just have a feeling that he doesnt like boxing that much, like Mikey Garcia.

He is 24 and apparently worth $20 million.

If he never fights again, he has done pretty darned good for himself.

    Tough to criticize him really.

If Garcia never accomplished anythign else in boxing or in life he will have made a lot of money in the ring. sure but that in boxing happens a lot and a lot more now then ever. He has always been suspect and thought of as a novelty to many fight fans. He would not be remembered for much other then he fought G.Davis and lost after running his face before the fight. G.Davis will already be remembered as a skilled fighter with power and presents in the ring. So now sweets likes and wants to keep his name out there by way of who he associates with not what he has done in the ring or will do in the ring.

I think alot more of Gervonta than I did a year ago...I think Ryan's people should be careful about matching him. I cant see him beating Isaac Cruz, Frank Martin, or maybe Hector Garcia.

Maybe he is going up to 140 but what is he taking with him and why go up now ? Bc he can start at the bottom again and pretend to be moving slowly while making the money and stroking his false ego with certain fans without even having to prove it in the ring how convienent. And he will take the some metallity he had at 135 wtih him up to 140 and that is get attention without having to prove himself and make the money while he still can. And if it dont go his way he can break down and well break down and get some attention that way.
