  • Comments Thread For: Josh Taylor: That's Still Definitely A Goal, To Move Up To 147 & Challenge For The Title Up There

Josh Taylor still intends to move up to the welterweight division, but not before taking at least two more junior welterweight fights. Taylor plans to defeat Teofimo Lopez in their fight for his WBO 140-pound championship June 10 in New York. Then he'll attempt to reschedule his rematch with Jack Catterall, whom Taylor barely beat by split decision in February 2022.

If he beats Lopez he will represent a better money fight than the other 147.

The Josh/Catterall ship sailed long ago. Now Catterall just needs to get a life outside of Josh. Catterall's been living off the Taylor fight fumes for too long.

It seemed an outside bet at best before but since the fight with Jack and the deluded afterthoughts I'm not sure even Josh thinks that way really.

SMH.....It's always someone's goal to move up in weight. Let's see how you do against Teofimo first, buddy.

That's on him and his management team for waiting around for a year and a half doing nothing to stay active and getting him another big fight.
