Oscar was way past his prime and fighting at a weight he hasn't fought at in 10 years. This dude is a young bloke in the prime of his career.

The worst has already happened. Cryan Quitcia can redeem himself at 140. That division is loaded. Romero, Haney on his way, T. Lopez, Prograis, Ramirez, G. Antuanne Russell, Zepeda, Barboza, Matias, S. M. Love, B. Lee, Martin, and so on. Those are all great fights that can be made.

He's saying some of what he truly thinks now. But yeah, best not to be overconfident of how successful and long one can be in this business.

The world wont be around that much longer probably.

Quitting is quitting. Why are we making excuses for it? If you signed the contract, no one wants to hear excuses afterwards.

"There are a lot of people out there who are trying to give me a wedgie. I understand it, but fishnet stockings, heels and thongs are here to stay for the next 50 years. This is what I want to wear for the rest of my life. So people are either behind and inside of me, or they're not. Either way, I'm just gonna keep ignoring all of the haters, and keep doing what I love to do, and handle all my buttocks business" -- Oscar DeLaHoya

Oscar didn't quit. Oscar got beat into a pulp. An old fighter like Oscar need not take unnecessary punishment. Oscar had nothing left and was just a punching bag. We see what happened to Mohammed Ali.
