I think the article got it wrong. I read somewhere that RTL pays K2 that much PER YEAR, not per fight. They also have a lot of expenses setting up the fights, renting the stadiums, paying sparring partners, undercard fighters etc.
So net they probably make much less. Hattons money was purses alone.

When they say European, I think they mean the continental boxers.

Hatton is worth around £40m according to most British newspaper rankings. That is around $75m. I doubt the Klitschko's have made that combined.

I don't think they've ever been on ppv and they'll probably never be (at least in the US). They don't have the popularity that they'd need to go on ppv. Maybe Klit vs. Klit, but other than that, the last heavyweight fight that was gonna be on ppv is Lewis-Klit II.

It's hard for a foreign fighter to get buys in the US, the only time Lennox Lewis was on ppv was against Tyson and Holyfield.

And they don't spend their money foolishly.
well said. a lot of people dont like their boxing styles, but imo its not that bad to watch...usually they get the KO anyway.

They have so many critics and yet they dont mind, they just focus in boxing and now they are dominating the HW scene. Thats why i think they deserve all the wealth they are getting now.

              To the PPV comment.

Who the heck would ever buy pay per view for the price they ask. Boxing needs to clean up the judging first of all. The commision should never allow promoters to have anything to do with the judges. Also the judges should be ex-boxers who actually know a little about fighting.
              HBO and Showtime are PPV.

So given the exchange rate thats about 15-16 mill a fight.

                Not bad.

these cats are gods in germany and most europe much bigger than money may is in usa. mr boat buyer makes about as much as they do p/f, but consistency means more mula for the klits. their tactical approach to boxing means they will finish their careers brains intact and lifestyle-flashy-less lifestyle means ending up rich for the rest of their lives. nothing but respect for that. win some lose some,

I read the article but I think you didn't read my post..It was a question. I wasn't claiming Hatton makes more money than them, I asked.

Hatton sold over 1 million PPVs in the UK for the Floyd fight and he got 100% of that and he got a share of the US PPV rev. He got a share of the 850K US PPV sold with Pacquiao. Hatton has made about 40Mill in guaranteed $ starting from his Mayweather fight till Pacquiao so I thought he was the richest Euro boxer before I read this article.

You should maybe think a little more.

I like getting you fired up mr. jesus cuz you're always so nice!
