Who ranks higher all time, Klitschko's or Lewis?

I know. and he beat Bowe in the amateurs. and he beat Evander twice no matter what the judges said. I totally agree. He was my fav. fighter in college when no one knew who he was and he was fighting the Akinwandes and Mavrovics(sp? I'm not even close lol) of the HW division. It's just a good thing Lewis didnt get KTFO by Briggs in the early rds when they fought.

I wonder who you guys would have round out the top 5 of this decade after the Klits and Lennox. maybe Byrd? jeez I dont even know

I honestly think a prime vitali is the better fighter but I would still rank lewis higher because of his resume.

Lewis here too, hands down.

I was a casual boxing fan in the early 90s, and saw one Mavrovic fight (one of his EU-belt defenses). It was really impressive. Later I heard Lewis say, his war with Mavrovic was the toughest fight of his carreer.

Lewis was a very well rounded fighter. One of the few not to be intimidated by Tyson. And his resume is better than that of both K brothers combined. The three of them may be in the same tier for skill / power / speed / experience / ring dominance, with Lewis even slightly better than the brothers. But the K brothers will not have the opposition to climb to Lewis achievements. Tough luck for them, and not their fault.

Imo Lewis should rank higher, im from russia so I should favor Klitschko more due to him being Ukrainian. But i don't let that cloud my judgement, Lewis is the greater fighter when it comes to both resume and h2h. so who ranks higher all time in your oppinion, Vitali Klitschko, Wladimir Klitschko or Lennox Lewis?

Lewis ranks higher. It may not be because of Klits either. I think they got **** on by happening to come across in a time that the HWs are weak. They didn't have the Bowes, Holyfields, Tysons to face.

Still think a prime Lennox beats a prime Vitali on pure boxing skills. I think a young Tyson had the head movement and footwork to get inside his long ass arms though. Vitali is damn good, though. He sure is a big SOB.

lewis and its not even close, imo anyone who doesn't have lewis in their top 7/8 HW's of all time immediately loses all credibility. imo lewis is a top 5 HW.

but you raise an interesting point - where do people see vlad and vitali on the all time lists? vitali is without doubt the better fighter and is worthy of mention alongside other greats. in hypothetical head to head match ups the respect for his abilities is apparent as many people feel he could beat the likes of holyfield, foreman, tyson, frazier etc.

vlad may not have all the physical tools but its hard to ignore the huge body of work over his entire career. he is the man at HW and has beat just about every fighter (save vitali) that has come into the top 10.

personally i have vitali ranked higher but not by much, would be interested to see what others think...

Lewis does not match-up to Vitali`s achievments, Vitali has not been poleaxed TWICE by mediocre journeymen like Lennox Lewis has, Vitali has the greatest KO percentage in heavyweight history, the vast majority of boxing fans feel Vitali was a very unfortunate loser against Lennox Lewis with Lewis promising Vitali and the sports fans a rematch yet turning down $30 million and running scared, Vitali is far more dominant in his title reigns than ever Lewis was, Vitali fights the No1 contenders where Lewis never ever did, Lewis is remembered as the only champion in history who was stripped of every belt for refusing to fight the No1 contenders. Lennox Lewis boasted he would have one Klitschko for lunch the other for dinner, yet after his lucky escape against Vitali he wanted no part of either brother, lets not forget that if McCall & Rahman could put Lewis too sleep, both Vitali & Wlad would decapitate him.. both are taller than Lewis, both have better jabs than Lewis, both have better right-hand power than Lewis, other than KOing Hasim Rahman Lewis was not a concusive hitter and Oleg Maskaev TWICE poleaxed Hasim Rahman even knocking him over the top rope and out of the ring for 5 minutes, so the Lennox Lewis KO of Rahman has to be taken mildly otherwise Oleg Maskaev would be talked about as a top 7/8 ATG
