  • Comments Thread For: Gervonta Davis Coaching Staff Believes Lomachenko Bout Wouldn't Last Two Rounds

For essentially half a decade, both Gervonta "Tank" Davis and Vasiliy Lomachenko have campaigned either in or around the same weight class. But, despite running through their competition, the two failed to cross paths.

Lomachenko is too smart to get clipped in 2 rounds.

Is it finally time to fight him? I would wait a little bit longer. He is only 35. Not ripe enough.

Vasily Lomachenko is an absolute marvel of a boxer; his reflexes, elusiveness and precision make his bouts a marvel to watch, which is why I gave him the nickname 'Sly Usyk' for his masterful control of the ring and opponents.

Nonetheless, Loma has been known to be toppled in the past, and he is admittedly not the same fighter he once was.

Gervonta 'Tank' Davis, on the other hand, is still on the ascendancy, and is an outspoken and powerful fighter in his own right. He has exuberantly drawn comparisons to a mini-Mike Tyson for his destructive power and ferocity.

Davis is s swift and punishing operator, and a young one at that. Though he may lack the same experience as Lomachenko, a certain respect is warranted here by those who understand the sweet science of pugilism.

In a the potential fight between the two, many would expect Davis to hold the keys to Lomachenko's downfall, as Davis stands a very good chance at challenging him.

In spite of Lomachenko's edges in speed, experience, natural-born athleticism, and technique, Davis is a dynamite puncher with a genius-level mind when it comes to processing and calculating his opponents weaknesses in ringcraft. This has made him trusty and renowned in regards to his commitment to come through with the knockout on a predictable basis.

While 'The Matrix' moniker might earn some fans in the ring, it seems very likely that Davis could be the man to trouble Lomachenko with his power in ways we have not yet seen.

As a Slavic-American, it's a hope of mine to see 'Tank' with a spectacular performance against the old master, bringing out the best in him in a fight which would earn them both respect for years to come.

Loma experienced some problems just with guys much bigger and taller than him. Here's Davis does not have those. Even old Loma will school him.

Yeah agreed. Tank could prove this by fighting Loma but there is no point because it would be so easy. More useful is to make comments about how easily Tank would beat other boxers that he will never fight.

Loma struggles with guys that are tall that can box behind their reach. Tank is his size his reach with less of a boxing IQ cause well the styles area and amateur pedigree. Loma schools this fool but will struggle vs Haney because Haney is taller rangy and can box. Tank will age Loma out until his speed is gone and he can get caught with ease by tanks power.
