    Jones vs. Griffin 2

How much of this fight ending the way it did was Roy being focused as opposed to Griffin not having Eddie Futch in his corner like the first fight.. I think Futch gave Montell confidence and the perfect plan to fight Roy..

That night, I don't think it mattered who was in his corner. Roy had KO on his mind from when that bell rang till he landed that hooker-cut on Griffin. Roy came out VERY aggresive which he never does being a saftey 1st type fighter.

From what I've heard Griffin complained about being rushed on and not getting proper time to warm up. Here's the quote.

"Montell felt treated unjust in the Olympic Games and in the second Jones fight, where he was rushed into the ring before he could warm up. But there is no doubt that he lost tonight", Montell's brother Tim said after Montell lost to Michalczewski.

On that night, Roy would have KO'd any light heavyweight from any generation, it was eerily similar to Tyson's performance vs. Spinks

It doesn't matter who was in his corner, because he got knocked out in the 1st round...he didn't get a chance to get into his corner and talk about anything..

Roy was focused, and he was PISSED.

I would have loved to see him fight like that more often.
