Comments Thread For: WBO Opts To Not Order Another 140-Pound Title Eliminator In Wake Of Recent Fallouts

Back-to-back failed efforts by the World Boxing Organization to produce a sanctioned junior welterweight title eliminator has prompted the sanctioning body to momentarily abandon the process. The latest effort saw Australia's

The WBO is useless, I dont even know why they exist. All fighters should just boycott them and their fees and then they would go bankrupt.

Ofc they won't bcs they would have to order Barboza v Ramirez, which Top Rank doesn't want.

Barboza-Ramirez in California with no sanctioning clamps or purse bids means more money for both. The WBO had to have seen this coming. These sanctioning bodies often spend time mandating things that are not financially in the best interests of the fighters.

The WBO don't usually order eliminators anyway. They usually just mandate whichever fighter of Arum's or Warren's, happens to occupy the No1 spot. These were only ordered because Paro has been highly ranked for a lengthy period of time, and they can't be seen to overlook him. Now he's out of the way, Ramirez will get a voluntary and Barboza, will be named mandatory after, without having to fight an eliminator.

IBF take notes! Just go ahead and order Matias vs. Ergashev! No one wants to fight either of them, but they are willing to fight each other!

Why don’t they mandate Barboza vs Ramirez now?

Is it because Top Rank doesn’t want that and the WBO always does What Bob Orders?
