Both men were at extreme disadvantages in their fights. JMM with the weight and Winky with the 2 year lay off. It was hardly unexpected in either case.

Again, the HOF in boxing is not that hard to get in.

Both fighters are LOCKS for the HOF whether you think they should be or not.

Would've fought Floyd and Forrest but both backed out of the fights that were mentioned. Only person else he could've fought is a prime roy jones who was to big and maybe Calzaghe but of course Joe wouldn;t have done that. He is the only fighter who didn't duck P williams when he was really the most avoided man in boxing. Winky definite HOF. I guess P williams want get in either because no one will fight him.
This is true. I thought Winky was a great fighter. Didn't really dodge anyone. I must say though, he looked horrible in the Paul Williams fight. Wasn't the same Winky.

Marquez - yes, and even then borderline.
Winky - no. Lost to the very best fighters he fought. Williams, Hopkins, JC Vasquez. His wins over Mosley were great, but that is the only accomplishments that are HOF worthy on his resume. Sure, he has other good fighters on there like Quartey and Trinidad, but Quartey was past his best coming off a layoff, and Trinidad was just destroyed by Hopkins. And rather or not you think he beat Taylor, he still didn't step up to the plate in the last round like a real fighter should and just coasted. A lot of people say he got robbed against Vargas, but I've only seen highlights of the fight.

I'm sorry I like Winky but he doesn't even have a resume that's close to HOF-level

His career defining fight was against washed up Trinidad...he's always come close but lost to big names excluding Mosley...

Marquez would prob get in but idk bout a LOCK...RJJ, B-Hop, Floyd, Pac, Mosley are locks...

they have legitimate & valid claims to be in...

but winky's inactivity & refusal to do a rematch with taylor hurts his claim...

**** a rematch with taylor..At that time there was nothing he could have done to get decision from the judges..he fought his fight the first time and the judges gave taylor a break because he was supposed to be the "next best thing"..

You guys seriously overestimate how hard it is to get into the HOF.

These two guys are both LOCKS.
