I don't think I'd put Winky in the Hall of Fame...maybe...

If Marquez wins another significant fight I think he's a lock...

Then again, HOF isn't all about how good your resume is only...

Agreed about the last comment, and agreed about only a maybe for Winky. A probably, but a maybe.

But about Marquez, for me he gets in the milisecond he is eligible.

Some of Marquez's best wins came when his opponent was over the hill(Casamayor, Barrera)...although both him and Casa were old...

But he does have titles at 126, 130, and 135

And does have solid wins over Juarez, Diaz, Medina, Peden, and Gainer...

I don't know if he has a career defining win...maybe the Diaz fight...if Diaz goes onto better things it will look JMM's resume look much better...

I wouldn't argue if they put him in but idk its an unquestionable lock-in...

Winky on the other hand has wins over Mosley, washed up Tito, and that's about it...and Quartey really...

Are you guys really serious. Is it winky's fault that no one wanted to fight him and he had to travel around the world to get a fight for years. He fought Hopkins, Mosley, jermaine taylor, tito, and would have fought Oscar but of course Oscra didnt want that. Called out Margarito when no one else would fight him and was turned down. Would've fought Floyd and Forrest but both backed out of the fights that were mentioned. Only person else he could've fought is a prime roy jones who was to big and maybe Calzaghe but of course Joe wouldn;t have done that. He is the only fighter who didn't duck P williams when he was really the most avoided man in boxing. Winky definite HOF. I guess P williams want get in either because no one will fight him.

Its something that doesn't happen often and Its something you don't expect to see happen - because of all the experience they have. But, when it does, often, their opponent was too young and they were too old. But that wasn't the case here, since both JMM and Winky both have a few fights left in them.

They just faced the wrong opponents at the wrong time .....

JMM gettin owned was a foregone conclusion. Don't affect him. Winky comin off a 2 yr layoff at his age and goin str8 to a workhorse like Pwill was also recipe for disaster. I don't view either as an embarrassing loss.

I think JMM will get in the HOF. He may need 1 more win as already noted. Winky probably won't tho. If he were to beat Sturm or whoever got the IBF belt at 160 it might help his chances.
