Comments Thread For: Soro On Controversial Loss To Kurbanov: You Win 8 Or 9 Rounds, Can't Have Robbery Like This

What happened to him Saturday night felt worse to Michel Soro and his team than his controversial technical-knockout loss to Israil Madrimov in December 2021.

Until there is a unified sanctioning body and judges are fired on the spot, the corruption in boxing will continue.

Yup, we need a national boxing commission to overhaul boxing's outdated and archaic, rules and regulations. And until that happens, PEDs, robberies and unsportsmanlike practices will continue to be the norm.

It is sad that this happened. But so many times I hear about a fighter, often a champion, go to the home town or worse yet, home country of the opponent and I always swear why the hell are they doing that, they are going to get robbed??!! And guess what happens - they get robbed. Fighters and their management and promoters all have money symbols in their eyes and that takes precedence too often.

soro is old and he is at least 2 years away from a title shot (if it ever comes). he needed the money. he is medium risk NO reward type of fighter. nobody except his team would be bothered if he retired 5 years ago. those kind of guys often get short end of the stick.

Have not watched the fight yet, but the Russian judge scored it for the Russian, the French judge for the French... and German guy scored it for the russian. Heck, his own French judge had it 115-113...

This seems far less a Robbery and bad score cards than Canelo ryder where Mexican judges had EVERY ROUND to Canelo....

Or let's not talk about Bivol started 4 rounds under against Canelo.

Now I really got to see this fight.
