Comments Thread For: Hearn Says Big Fights Await Ryder After Defeat to Canelo, Mentions Golovkin as Possibility

John Ryder got more than a moral victory by going the distance with Canelo Alvarez. According to his promoter, Eddie Hearn, Ryder now stands to gain offers for "big" opportunities, despite losing a unanimous decision to Alvarez, the undisputed champion at 168, last Saturday night at Estadio Akron in Alvarez's

Canelo sent Smith up to 175, sent GGG into retirement, and sent Ryder to the hospital. Jacobs and Smith have never amounted to shiznit after 12 with Canelo and neither will Ryder. Canelo Alvarez does a good job ending careers.

Ryder has a lotta heart, but at age 34, he's not going down in weight to face Jermall The Phantom or GGG. Eddie is always angling to wring every dime out of every fighter. Berlanga would be a good opponent for Ryder.

Lmao @ calling a golovkin fight “a big fight”. He’s never been in a big fight outside of canelo 3x and arguably kell Brook. Other than that he doesn’t have notable name on resume. Maybe dervychenko but as much as bumlovkin fans try to say canelo judging is suspect they don’t look at how dervychenko whooped on ggg and got robbed lol

Rematch with Callum Smith, fights with Eubank Junior or Liam Smith.

There are some big fights out there for him, but I sense Ryder will always been the underdog going into those fights.

I am not sure what the market is for Ryder now at this stage of his career. A late Derek Chisora type run of fights for him maybe 'Were he pushing and keeps honest World level fighters'.

There are big domestic fights for him that is for sure, and business wise 'I think those type of fights are great for UK fighters etc.

Hearn sucks at promoting. Nobody cares to see any more of his domestic level English fighters in big fights. Ruder should take his paycheck and enjoy retirement.

Well, he has sold out arenas in NY, LA, England and Japan, all without Canelo. Canelo did his 2 biggest Ppv Numbers as an A side with Ggg.
