Comments Thread For: Julio Cesar Martinez Rallies in Second Half To Stop Ronal Batista in Eleventh

Julio Cesar Martinez had more trouble with Ronal Batista on Saturday night than the wide odds suggested he would. Mexico City's Martinez eventually overwhelmed the pesky Panamanian with his power, however, and stopped him early in the 11th round on the Canelo Alvarez-John Ryder undercard at a sold-out Akron Stadium in Zapopan, Mexico. Referee Celestino Ruiz stepped between them to stop the action exactly a minute into the 11th round, after Martinez pummeled Batista with a barrage of power punches while Batista was backed into the ropes.

Martinez is not the same fighter since Chocolatito humbled him.

Martinez and Gollaz Valenzuela are both adept at taking a beating and then somehow returning punches in machismo, ****ing their gloves together as if they didn't just get pieced up, then going back into a high guard for more. In Martinez case, he was lucky to be in there against a guy who's not even in the world top 50. in Gollaz valenzuela case, he's lucky the judges were wined and knew something proper Friday night.

Martinez was losing the fight against a handpicked scrub and needed a corrupt stoppage to save him. He lost last time out against another low level fighter but got the robbery. Sunny needs to watch himself because he'll be set-up if the fight takes place in the US or Mexico. Absolute fraud is Martinez. He's an unskilled swinger with power. Nothing more.

I think a mass of landed punches are better than a few cuffing shots that don't even land fully. Martinez was once again clowned by a handpicked low level fighter. Had they not gone through with the corrupt stoppage, they would have ripped Batista off on the cards like his last opponent had done to him in Carmona.

Then we had the Spark robbery before that. Predictable as it is disgusting.

Not that it mattered as he lost clearly anyway, but Ryder should have got the 4 rounds he won with the judges. But no, one had Canelo winning all 12 rounds with the others having him lose 2. I can't wait until the Bivol rematch to see what kind of corruption and excuses Canelo comes up with. He's already proven he's delusional with his claim that he won and dominated the first 6 rounds. Let's see if he can top that.
