Comments Thread For: Ben Whittaker Drops Jordan Grant Twice In 3rd Round Stoppage on Buatsi-Stepien Undercard

Ben Whittaker continues to have the time of his life in the infancy of his pro career. The 25-year-old light heavyweight floored Scotland's Jordan Grant twice en route to a third-round stoppage. Whittaker floored Grant late in round two and again early into round three which prompted an immediate stoppage at 0:13 of that round in their Sky Sports-aired bout Saturday at Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, England.

Whittaker is a talented kid but has a terrible attitude. I think it’s gonna bite him on the arse the same way it did DeGale back when he turned pro believing his own hype.

Not so much bothered by Ben's attitude but he needs to step up fast. He's achieved success as an Olympian. The people around Ben need to be giving him fights that improve & sharpen his skills & fighting 6-4 guys is not helping him at all.

I remember Teddy Atlas saying how silly it was to take a guy that has achieved everything in the amateurs & say that 'now you're a pro, we'll act as though you'd achieved nothing' & bring them long slowly. David Morrell is maybe pushing it a bit but I love his attitude. As far as he's concerned, he's one bad MoFo & he is ready.

What ruined DeGale was staying with a terrible trainer who, basically, was a strength & conditioning coach that wouldn't have known a move if it upped & bit him.

If he's fighting 6-4 guys, he definitely has some good altitude
