Canelo and Bivol are both good defensively and, over the first few rounds, this resulted in a lot of blocked punches, a lot of slipped punches. Canelo was throwing the bigger punches, not many landed cleanly, but he did get a couple of decent uppercuts in. As the fight progressed, Bivol began to dominate, through his speed and his superior ring generalship. He landed some extended eye-catching combinations and was the clear winner. The judges had the fight a little too close, but it wasn't a totally lop-sided fight. Canelo's biggest problem is Bivol's mastery of distance and discipline. Without the discipline it might be possible to lure him into more of a scrap, but Bivol is smart enough to never engage too much. He picked his moments, scored up the combinations, and then got out of range.

Nelo rightfully lost
MFers have to stop saying Nelo got beat up.
It wasn't a one sided drubbing.
Haters will of course give as many rds to Nelo's opponents as they can.
If Nelo wins a UD, it was paid for.
''Boxing'' fans are the worst.

Even after sharing the ring with Bivol and learning 1st hand that fighting Bivol wasn't as easy as it looked from the outside, Canelo is still talking dismissively of Bivol. He wants us to believe that he believes he was dominating the 1st half of the fight. He doesn't really believe that. He was frusatrated the whole fight. You could see it in his face and his body language. He got handled. He also wants to tell u that him getting tired was the problem. Because he doesn't want fans to believe what they saw-that Bivol was more skillful, smarter, kept control of distance, had better timing and was just better overall in every category.
