Andre Berto: "I'll knock Mosley out"

I think the Margarito fight has re-written history in the minds of a lot of people.

Take a goooood look at mosley's career. At welterweight, SSM is not a concussive puncher. Mosley wailed away with endless right hands to stop Margarito. Much props for that. We also don't know how much Tony had been softened by Cotto.

If you look at Shane's record at 147/154, i think Margarito is prolly the first top fighter he has stopped. In fact, there were a lot of middling fighters he didn't hurt. SM was 2 seconds from going to a close decision vs Mayorga. After Rico was blown away by Tito and Oscar.


The jury is out on Berto's chin. I understand that. Something tells me that AB is getting better. And a Shane-Berto fight is no gimme for SM.

Plus, Shane has been outboxed by a lot of guys. Andre Berto is a VERY live underdog in that bout. I'd handicap it at 3:2.

A guy who went life and death with Cosme Rivera and Luis Collazo is not going to give any problems to Shane Mosley. People need to get that through their heads. Berto is going to end up like Fernando Vargas and David Reid except those guys were thrown to the wolves a lot sooner and they actually had more substance than hype.

they hate on him because he gets so much hype from hbo yet he has no good wins and in most eyes shouldv lost to Collazo. Not to mention he ducked Collazo afterwards. If someones a wbc weltereight( the deepest division in boxing today) champion fighting the Urangos and Forbes of the world wont cut it. Saying that i hope shane knocks him out and ends this rediculous hype job.

Victor Ortiz, who just recently quit, is getting another feature bout on HBO. Arturo Gatti was an exciting fighter, but he never beat anyone good. He had carte blanche on HBO. Paulie Malignaggi has lost every key fight, and looked bad in others. (until Diaz). Paulie doesn't get KO's. But he is always on TV. Why can't Berto get the same love?

Berto did beat Collazo, and he is willing to fight Shane. That is two top-ten WW's, and a top, rugged JWW. That isn't so bad, IMO.

Berto is demanding more than $750,000 because HBO paid him that kind of money to fight guys like Urango and Collazo when HBO in turn was only willing to put up $2.5 million for him to share with Mosley. So that means is Mosley would've taken less money for that fight than he would've gotten paid for Margarito when Berto has no clout other than HBO's smoke machine. I can totally undertand why Mosley told Dibella and HBO to come correct or fuck off.

I doubt Mosley chooses to fight a young hog like Berto for his next fight. We will probably be forced to have to see the excuse maker Clottey again.
