How are some golf players always in these lists?

I understand it's a rich men sport but not followed by the masses, it shouldn't generate that much money.

Good for Canelo, he has worked hard for it. Crazy that Mbappe is 3rd on that list and he's only 24, you have to have insane discipline and hunger to stay on top when you have all that money at that age

Endorsements. Phil Mickelson has done over 800 million dollars in his career and it's mostly from endorsements. I just took a look at his current endorsement deals and it's mostly white elitist endorsement types (wealth management firms, exxon mobil, etc)

You could argue that he has cherry-picked but I don't think you could argue that he has had to wake up early every day for years and years and dedicate a lot of time in the gym, get punched in the face (punches from cherries still hurt), press conferences, fight tours, etc. The same goes for all top fighters in this sport
