They probably offered him more money than anyone else for less fights it appears. And I think matchroom still wants a black American champion as it sees how lucrative pbc has been since day one and especially lately. They want to tap into that market without admitting that market exists by name

Sometimes I wonder if even PBC knows it exists? Why do they keep Matias and Morrell in MInnesota? Have they heard of Florida? Why would you want Tank vs. Hector Luis Garcia in D.C., vice Tank vs. Gary Antuanne Russell? Russell said he would come to 135! They do strange things!
